A radical Nikonist takes a Canon escapade

Okay, I know I’ve always been a Nikon enthusiast and that will never change. Even when the times comes, to buy a new camera – I will always choose Nikon. But, yesterday I spent half of a day with my friend Mirko who shoots with a Canon. And he kindly offered me to try shooting with his 5D MkII + 50mm 1.2 lens attached to it. At first I was just overwhelmed and actually found myself in the state of being totally photography-clumsy. As if I was scared to take a shot. Haha. But, we hit the streets and I had the privilege to shoot with his camera all the way though. While doing that my D80 was safely hidden in my bag. *guilty*

    brilliant shots ines (;
    there are differences between nikon & canon, or any other camera… but the discussion about them will be pretty much stupid because I really think it’s not about the camera – it’s about the photographer, a person who is making (not taking) a photograph & the realisation of his/her idea.

      Not exactly true. I used to work in a camera shop so I know the difference. We saw a lot of Nikons come in with the same problems. It was about 2 years ago so I don’t remember what the problem was but I do remember that it was a lot of the same thing. From my experience, Canons are a bit more durable. Image quality-wise, it does depend on how it’s being used. There’s not much difference there.

    Well, I’ve never worked with Nikon, so I can’t say what I think about it. However, I’m a Canon lover, can’t explain why. I didn’t have a problem while choosing my first dslr camera, I just knew it would be Canon. Anyways, pretty good pictures. I wanted to say they’re perfect (especially thais one with a yellow car <3) and I like them more than pictures you took with nikon, but it woulndn’t be true I guess. You proved that good photographer can take a good picture, no matter what camera is used :)

    I must say that this is my dream gear >_<
    I never used Nikon before and I think that the differences are minimum, just as Coccinella said: it really doesn’t matter what camera is used to take a good photo if you are a good photographer :D
    Your photos are amazing, as always, and I love the mood of the last one!! <333
