Last Saturday, I went on a one day trip to Graz. I was really looking forward to this trip since it signified a step away from my everyday routine which was staying at home, basically. Well, you know how I always moan about not having stuff to shoot.
Graz is a town in Austria situated 30min from the Slovenian border and is the closest austrian city for us Croatians. At least, from where I live. It’s always been one of those shopping cities outside of our own country that people visit most frequently. Actually, it has the closest IKEA store. Hehe. And the closest MAC Cosmetics counter. Double hehe.
To my own surprise, I didn’t take a lot of photos. Maybe 20. I don’t know why that was. Maybe because the weather was super dull and cloudy. No contrast, no nothing which meant less photos, more shopping. Not good.
I’ve never been in Graz for Advent. I’ve been to Vienna four times and it is majestic. I am not sure if the Graz went all out. I am not saying it is not pretty. It is and looks very picturesque. My only problem were infinite hot wine stands and not enough of any other, such as the ones with Christmas decorations, candies, … I know it is not fair to compare Graz with Vienna since the latter is a capital city, after all. Plus, Vienna is one of the most famous european cities. But, the only thing that makes Graz similar to Vienna was the amount of tourists. The solution was visiting off streets and little alleys with not so many people roaming around. And only then you could enjoy the real town.
What I liked the most about the whole trip were a group of street performers. Unfortunately, I don’t have them in a photo but I did record them playing. You can check it out in my video below. They were insanely talented and cute, in my opinion. Yes, yes, you heard it. They were insanely cute. I am a girl and I have eyes. Hehe. If it were up to me, I’d be standing there and enjoying their performance for the entire evening. But, it wasn’t all up to me. I wish I know who they were. Not to stalk them, of course, but maybe to hear some more of their tunes and cool beats.
