A month ago, my family and I visited the little town of Prelog, situated up north. Ok, that’s a lie, we weren’t really visiting per se rather had to go there for other reasons. Nevertheless, we had a lot of free time to spend by the lake, have a coffee and just walk around the area. The weather was perfect, sunny and warm.
The name of the lake is Dubrava Lake (in Croatian Dubravsko jezero) and is actually one of Croatia’s artificial lakes. The one in Prelog is made for the purposes of the nearby hydroelectric power station. I can’t describe you enough how pretty it is there. It has a cute little cafe, camp and the running trail alongside of the lake.
In two hours of my time there, I got to witness bright sun and twilight time conditions and I took every opportunity to document it. Everywhere I pointed my camera at, I saw a photogenic scene. When the sun finally set, the mist appeared over the lake. You could see a thin line of it in the distance. The one thing which I didn’t really like (and I remembered it quite well) were the nasty mosquitoes. They were everywhere, especially during twilight time. Nevertheless, I would do it again. If you ever get a chance to visit this lake, please do. You won’t be disappointed. God bless.
