I live in the part of Croatia where the scenery isn’t as easy to photograph or find whimsical. It’s mostly fields and, honestly, untidy bushes all around. There are no hills to add dynamic or anything. I mean, there are hills but I have to plan a whole trip in advance and gather a group of friends to come with me. That area is a bit distant and I wouldn’t feel comfortable going alone.
You can’t even imagine how hard it is for me to find a good shooting spot, in the area I live in. It would be amazing if my address was in the countryside England, New Zealand or Iceland. But, it is not. So, to get a good shot, I have to find a glimpse of something interesting and photograph it in specific circumstances.
I remember this little meadow by the river Sava looking amazing in the evening mist. I’ve already took a photo of it, last year. I wanted to come back and take proper photos. However, I didn’t have a lot of time as the fog was separating and leaving me. We’ve had a couple of days of rain and then sun. Therefore, I knew the fog rolling in was inevitable.
This must be passion; living in the boring area and shooting with a single lens for 7 years. I’m not giving up but, it takes such an effort to squeeze out a semi decent photo. I know I keep writing on the subject all the time. But, it just bugs me. Haha. I really hope things change. Thank you for reading and for your support on going full time as a photographer. God bless!
