Judging from my Twitter and Instagram posts, you already know I spent the last week in Vienna. I was visiting my good friend Marijana (MKlasan). Normally, I would start at the beginning but I felt like sharing the photos I took during our walk through the Stadtpark and along the Donaukanal. It was a sunny and warm Wednesday afternoon. It took as three days to finally catch some together time as Marijana was working during the day. That is why I find the moments here that more special.

I’ve travelled to Vienna so many times but this is the first time I visited Stadtpark. And I wish I had done it sooner. The number of tourists is minimal and you can only see locals laying and chilling on the lawn. Experiencing the town as locals do is the best part of travelling. The lesser-known areas (to a tourist) almost always turn out to be real gems. I can see myself living in Vienna. Maybe because I’ve visited it so many times and I got accustomed to. Marijana was right, you really do feel safe there.

Strolling along the Donaukanal is yet another thing to be experienced, when in Vienna. Its banks are home for numerous ships, some converted to restaurants and some left inactive and ruin like. The entire canal is filled with colorful graffiti walls. After all, you can never have too many colorful portrait backdrops, right? I really enjoyed the walk. Nice chats and lots of neat stuff to see. God bless.

I agree with you, Stadtpark is one of the best places in the city of Vienna to just chill out. It reminds me of Munich’s Englische Garten, although less trendy. But actually, even NY’s Central Park has its calm spots that are going to shield you from the city frenzy.
